A damaged, worn, or weakened tooth can affect both your confidence and oral health. At Smile Today Dental, we proudly serve patients from Winnetka and surrounding communities, offering expert dental crown services designed to protect, restore, and enhance your teeth. Our team uses advanced techniques to ensure every crown fits perfectly, looks natural, and restores full function so you can smile, eat, and speak with confidence.
Common signs that a dental crown may be necessary include a tooth that is cracked, chipped, worn down, or weakened by a large filling. Sensitivity to hot or cold, pain while chewing, or a tooth that has undergone root canal therapy may also indicate the need for a crown. During a thorough examination, our team evaluates your teeth and determines the best course of action to protect your smile.
Yes. Dental crowns are designed to restore strength and function to compromised teeth, often saving them from extraction. By encasing the tooth in a custom-made, durable crown, we can prevent further damage, reduce sensitivity, and maintain the natural tooth structure while improving overall dental health.
The procedure starts with a thorough assessment of your tooth and the surrounding area to ensure a perfect fit. The tooth is carefully shaped to accommodate the crown, and digital scans or impressions are taken to create a custom crown that matches your bite and natural tooth color. With traditional crowns, a temporary crown is placed while the permanent one is crafted. Once complete, the final crown is securely bonded, providing a seamless, natural-looking restoration.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort following crown placement. Recovery is typically quick, and normal eating and oral hygiene routines can resume shortly after the procedure. Avoiding extremely hard or sticky foods and following any specific post-procedure instructions from our team helps ensure long-lasting results.
Yes. Our advanced technology allows us to offer same-day crowns for many patients. These crowns are designed, milled, and placed in a single appointment, eliminating the need for temporary crowns or multiple visits. Same-day crowns offer the same strength, durability, and natural appearance as traditional crowns while saving time and reducing the number of appointments.
Absolutely. Dental crowns can be customized to match the shape, size, and color of your surrounding teeth, creating a seamless, natural look. Beyond protection, crowns enhance aesthetics and can help restore a confident, radiant smile.
