Six ways in which teeth bonding treatment can be used to improve the smile

Teeth Bonding Treatment in Glenview IL Area

Drs. Evelyn Kidonakis and Jinyoung “Anny” Yoo of Smile Today Dental believe in providing patients with a variety of solutions when it comes to enhancing the appearance of their smiles. With cosmetic treatments such as dental or “teeth bonding,” we can assist Glenview, Illinois, area patients with a myriad of aesthetic concerns.

What are the six ways in which dental bonding can be used to improve the smile?

  1. Covering tooth discoloration and permanent staining. Dental bonding can be used to cover up tooth discoloration that may be caused by various factors such as staining, aging, or genetics. This is a non-invasive and quick solution for those seeking a brighter and more even smile.
  2. Fixing chipped or cracked teeth. If you have any chipped or cracked teeth, dental bonding can help restore their appearance and function. The composite resin material used in the procedure is durable enough to withstand normal chewing forces, making it an effective solution for minor tooth damage.
  3. Closing gaps between teeth. Some people may have spaces between the teeth, and using teeth bonding to close gaps is a fast and easy solution. By adding composite resin to the sides of the adjacent teeth, a cosmetic dentist can close the gaps and give you a more uniform smile.
  4. Reshaping teeth. Teeth bonding can also be used to change the shape of teeth that are misshapen or have an irregular contour. This is especially useful for those who have small or pointed teeth, as it can help create a more harmonious and symmetrical smile.
  5. Lengthening short teeth. For our patients with short teeth, dental bonding can provide a simple way to lengthen them and improve their appearance. By applying composite resin to the edge of the tooth, a cosmetic dentist can make the tooth appear longer and more proportionate to the rest of the smile.
  6. Protecting exposed tooth roots. Gum recession or dental enamel erosion can lead to exposed tooth roots, which not only impacts the appearance of the patient’s smile but also increases sensitivity and risk of decay. Dental bonding is often used to cover these sensitive areas and protect them from further damage while improving their aesthetic appeal.
